Any day that Lou falls into the creek is a good day for the blog.

We took the dogs to the woods, as we do every Sunday, and I brought my camera along because Other wanted to take pictures of the creek blanketed with leaves.

Pretty, no? Well, apparently to a 35-lb. harebrained mutt, leaves on top of water look pretty much like leaves on top of ground that it is possible to walk on, because Lou just plunged right in:

Lou doesn't enjoy being wet. Jane will stand chest-deep in the creek and lap the water up as it flows past her without thinking twice, whereas we know that when Lou even deigns to get his paws wet, he must be really hot and thirsty.

He also tends to get really mad and yell, which is what he's doing here. He couldn't *believe* we hadn't brought a towel along.

He's dry and happy now, but still smells like a swamp.
